Arthur Treacher's has been around since the late 60's featuring their famous Fish & Chips. If you go to Arthur Treacher's today, they'll have what you expect, but also something you might be surprised to find. Now, even better, Arthur Treacher's and Frankie's Main Street have joined menus locally to bring you the best of both worlds: The Original Fish & Chips from England, and BBQ from the United States. Frankies was a well known eatery in Hubbard for many years until recently having to close due to a fire.

If you're like me, you know Arthur Treacher's is famous for their original Fish & Chips, but did you know they also have chicken and shrimp hand dipped in that same secret batter then fried to a golden crunch. A handful of British chips, a couple hushpuppies on the side and you'll enjoy a meal that you just can't get anywhere else.

If you're not sure if you want fish or chicken, go for the combination plate. One piece of fish and one piece of chicken, both hand-dipped in that trademark batter, then fried to a golden crunch. Served with chips and hushpuppies, it's the same great meal I remember having as a kid. Try it the British way with a sprinkle of malt vinegar, it's delicious.

With the addition of the menu from Frankie's Main Street, you now have a little something of everything from both sides of the world. Frankie's Main Street barbecue is not something you would expect to find at Arthur Treacher's, but once you try it, you'll be glad it's there. Ribs, chicken, pulled pork all smothered in Frankie's barbecue sauce. The thick sauce brings just the right amount of smoke and heat to the most tender ribs, juiciest chicken and delicious pulled pork. For a variation on the British chips, order a side of Frankie's chips. Potatoes sliced paper thin, deep-fried and served with a side of Ranch. It's the perfect side or the perfect snack.

If you're trying to watch your figure, try one of the grilled options. Shrimp and fish can be ordered with a lemon pepper or Cajun seasoning. I tried both and I love the Cajun fish. Full of flavor, this light flaky fish is served on a bed of rice pilaf making it a delicious lighter selection. If you prefer a different side, you can also get mixed vegetables or a baked potato.

There's one thing that has always been on the menu that I have never tried, until now. The Lemon Luv pie. The box warns you that it's hot but I couldn't wait to take a bite. What can I say? Yummy, yummy, yummy. I'm in love with the luv! The creamy, lemony filling surrounded by a light crispy crust. It'so good you'll have to get a couple to go. Which I did.

If you're looking for a place to eat, want something different, and tired of fast food. Make Arthur Treacher's/Frankie's Main Street your destination. You'll get the best of both worlds.
